For Reading Workshop we continued with Matilda by Roald Dahl, and then had Independent Reading.
During Writing Workshop today we talked about powerful sentences. Ask your child to come up with a verb, a noun and an adjective (random is great!) and then create a sentence using those words. We also used prepositions in our sentences, but I called them "Position Words" with the students. They should be able to give you a noun - verb - position word - noun sentence such as (The dog jumped over the car.)
After Recess the students had Music, which was followed by Math. The Grade 4's have come to the end of their text section on Patterns, which means I will provide some enrichment work for them now from other resources to further develop their understanding. The Grade 3's are nearing the end of their text section, working today with more decreasing patterns.
After Lunch we had S.S., and today each student received their own textbook. The topic was 'Getting Along', and to demonstrate that we knew how to get along, each student was paired with another to do a reading and question and answer activity.
