September 15th, 2014

Some of the students were asking where the post from sept 12 was because I had told them about a link I would share with them. I typed it but never published it so please look book at the 12th for the link. It's an amazing video.

Halfway through September already!  Time has flown by!  Here's the lowdown from Grade 3/4 today:

  1. Opening exercises - we completed another daily gram today, focusing on capitalization, punctuation, subjects and verbs
  2. Spelling word work/memory verse - Please see the 'Spelling and Memory' tab for this week's list and verse
  3. R.W. - we started our first Literature Study of the year!  We will be reading The Chocolate Touch as a class and completing a variety of activities that will appeal to all learners throughout the novel
  4. Math - continuing through our patterns unit, the 4's worked on patterns within a multiplication table while the 3's worked within a 100 chart, and reviewed attributes and matrixes.
  5. P.E. - with Mr. Banman (they were sweaty afterwards, so they must have worked hard!)
  6. S.S. - we are working our way through our mapping unit, and today we focused on some of "the largest" in Canada (i.e. largest lake - Great Bear, largest bay - Hudson, longest river - Mackenzie), etc.
  7. Chapel - Mrs. Hills spoke today about the beginning of Moses' life
See you all Wednesday.  Miss Dyck has great things planned for tomorrow!
