Today began with a paragraph editing assignment to get the student's minds dusted off a bit, and then we had Bible, where we focused on Hebrews and the teachings in chapter 12:5 about how God disciplines us and why. Then we went on to Handwriting (Y and W for Grade 3 and numbers for Grade 4), and a quick lesson on writing how-to paragraphs for both grades in Grammar. I emphasized the importance of the reader being able to do what the writer describes simply by reading their paragraph.
Following Library and Recess, the class had Music with Mr. Banman, and then DPA. Lunch was preceded by Math, where the 3's continued their work with arrays and repeated addition and the 4's did some strategy questions where they were required to use a variety of skills they've learned this year.
After Lunch anyone who hadn't completed their cherry blossom art from last week worked on that. The others helped create and act out a skit that we used for chapel today. The class had fun experimenting with drama, and I couldn't have led chapel today without them! I spoke about Proverbs 4:23, and how we must guard our hearts and everything that goes into them, with a particular focus on media.
