May 9, 2014

Good afternoon friends and families!  We had a hard-working but enjoyable Friday at school, and I think all of us are excited for the weekend.  I hope each of you has a relaxing joyful few days, particularly the moms!  Stella, Cora, Suzanne, Sandra, Amber, Paula, Stephanie S., Aryn, Cheryl, Cathy, Shawna, Stephanie H. - you are all amazing mothers who work incredibly hard for your families, and your children love you so much.  Thanks for all that you do, and your commitment to Christ and your children.  You are treasured!

We began the day with devotions, and then on to Spelling where we had our test.  Then it was RW, and we read another book in the reader.  The Grade 4's read a non-fiction story, which is often challenging for children.  They learned all about the difficulties of making sounds for radio programs many moons ago.  It was funny for everyone when the story suggested they experiment at home using a tape recorder.  The children laughed, and some didn't even know what it was!  I suddenly felt old! We culminated RW with some reading from The Hobbit.  Bilbo has just met Smaug in our story and the children are fascinated!

After recess we had our Math test, which have been returned for corrections and your signature.  The Grade 3 average was 89% and the grade 4 average was 83% which was awesome!  :)

Following lunch we had Science, and the students finished off their severe weather posters.  They finished their day with P.E.

Happy Mother's Day to all of our moms!
